Lifespan – The life span of a Boston Terrier is typically between 13 to 15 years on average. They are a smaller breed and just like other small breeds have a long lifespan.

Activity Level – High – They are a very high energy dog. They are a Terrier, and like most terriers, they need a large amount of exercise and mental stimulation. They like to be challenged both mentally and physically. A happy Boston Terrier is one that gets a ton of exercise and activity time on a daily basis. You will find as an owner of a Boston Terrier, you will be ahppiest with your dog when they have has a lot of exercise too. When they have had time to run their energy out, they will be a much more calm, cuddly, and obedient dog when they are indoors.

Potential Height – 12 to 15 inches tall at their shoulders

Potential Weight – 10 to 25 pounds. They have a large weight range for a small dog breed. Some full grown Boston Terriers can be less than half the size of other full grown Boston Terriers. They love to eat. They can gain weight quickly so it is important to monitor their food intake carefully. Barking – High- All terrier breds are highly alert dogs. They will bark at ay noise that startles them. The Boston Terrier is a great breed for to alert you of anything out of the ordinary. They will be quick to bark if someone approaches the front door. Boston Terriers frequently bark at other dogs but are not known to be aggressive.

Shedding –Low – The Boston Terrier is recognized as a hypoallergenic dog breed because they shed so little. They also have very short hair so it is not very noticeable when they shed. The Boston Terrier is a seasonal shedding breed. This means they will shed more in the Spring and the Fall.

Family Friendly – Definitely – Boston Terriers are very family friendly. They are great with small children. A Boston Terrier can’t really use its weight to cause harm to a small child by knocking them over. They are also big and stout enough to where they will not be injured easily.

Pet Friendly – Definitely – Boston Terriers get along very well with other dogs. They even most cats once they have determined their pecking order. AS with all dog breeds it is important to socialize your dog with other pets and people early in their life so they can become accustomed to interacting with others.
